THIS PROFILE IS AN EXAMPLE. DOG NOT AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION!

Coco is a beautiful and fluffy girl who is a glamours as her name suggests. This beautiful girl loves letting volunteers know how happy she is to see them with her huge smile and bouncy personality. Whenever Coco's cage is opened she loves nothing more than to roll on her back and beg for belly rubs. Next to belly rubs, Coco loves nothing more than being held like a newborn baby.

Despite her happy and sweet nature she has a sad story to tell. Several months ago Coco was dumped outside the BAPS shelter in the freezing cold. She looked terrible and was scared stiff. She hardly moved and just cuddled up with our vet Mina. Luckily for Coco our wonderful vet brought Coco to her hospital for a check-up. Sadly, Coco had heartworm and was very traumatized by her experiences. She was taken to the shelter directors home and treated for heartworm. After several months she was successfully treated for heartworm. With lots of love and affection Coco turned from a pup who looked like she had given up to one that show a real zeal for life.

Now Coco is living at BAPS and enjoying life again, be that snuggling up to volunteers or playing with toys in the playpen. Coco's beaming smile when she sees volunteers has to be seen to be believed, especially if you are one of her favorite people. It takes a little time for Coco to learn to trust people but when she does she you would be the only person in her world. Coco is a very sweet and fun-loving dog who will need someone who will be patient and understanding of her needs. But when you gain her trust, Coco will be utterly devoted to you.

Sadly, Coco had a seizure a few weeks ago but this did not deter Coco for enjoying her life. Further tests will need to be done but we feel that with regular medication Coco will have an excellent quality of life. She's a tough little girl who has survived so much and she's looking for someone special to devote herself to.

Coco is a BAPS dog and as such anyone interested in adopting Coco would need to visit BAPS two volunteer days in a row. This will give you time to get to know Coco and decide if you are a good match. If you are interested in adopting Coco please contact us on adopt@shindogs.org
